Biography

John C. Hanrahan is a Senior Associate Attorney with the Firm, having joined Brock & Scott in January 2022. Throughout his 35-year legal career, John has concentrated his practice on mortgage and real estate defaults, creditors rights, business reorganizations, representation of both creditors and debtors in bankruptcy proceedings, and business litigation. He has enjoyed an active trial practice, having tried hundreds of cases in state and federal courts, as well as obtaining verdicts for his clients in several dozen jury trials. John maintained his own law practice for nearly 20 years before joining Brock & Scott. He was appointed to serve as a member of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Special Committee to Standardize Voir Dire. John is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the bankruptcy courts for both jurisdictions. He is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. John is a 1982 graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1985, where he was an Associate Editor of Gonzaga Law Review. John enjoys playing guitar, fly fishing, and long distance bicycle riding.
